24 May Mini Manufest
Due to the success of “Manufest” in October 2018, an event put on by the McPherson Industrial Development Company/GoMcPherson to promote industrial jobs to Juniors, Seniors and their parents; there was a request to put on a mini-event in April.
Mini-Manufest was held on April 24th and drew in 27 students from across the County who were curious about the career opportunities that awaited them directly after finishing high-school. Eight employers provided an overview of their company, the opportunities available to them with a high school diploma, and also detailed a few career paths that these entry-level jobs could take them by gaining experience or additional schooling they could take advantage of with the help of their tuition reimbursement benefits.
“Manufest is an incredible opportunity for our students to hear, see and experience the many career possibilities tied to industry in McPherson County. In under a week of the event taking place I know of at least one senior who had an interview for a job after connecting with one of the employers at the event.”, stated Anna Berg, Career Counselor at USD 418.
