05 Aug McPherson Chamber of Commerce Launches Loan Program
The McPherson County Entrepreneurship Community Loan program was created through the Kansas Center for Entrepreneurship Tax Credit Program and applied for by the McPherson Chamber of Commerce on behalf of McPherson County. Designation of being an E-Community was awarded in 2011. The vision of the McPherson County E-Community: continue to support the collaborative business environment and provide resources to encourage entrepreneurship and expansion of existing business.
The purpose of the E-Community program is to provide low or zero interest loans to anyone wishing to start, purchase or expand a business in McPherson County. The loans are meant to be used in conjunction with financial institutions, private investment, and Network Kansas partners as a “final piece” to complete the puzzle or “fill the gap” financing a business start up or expansion. Any business in McPherson County can apply, the loan minimum is $3,000 and maximum is $45,000 and loan term of 7 year payback.
The McPherson E-Community Committee is very proud of two very visible projects that have been funded so far. The first project is the expansion and new location of the Mattress Haven to 310 N. Main, followed by the new women’s & children’s clothing store of Brooklyn & Co. at 213 N. Main.
