The municipally-owned McPherson Board of Public Utilities is both the electric and water supplier for the city. The McPherson BPU provides one of the lowest cost electric power in the Nation with an average industrial rate of 4.6 cents per kWh in 2011.  The BPU offers virtually unlimited capacity and unbeatable reliability. Through an interconnect agreement with Westar Energy, BPU’s customers have the benefit of stable, competitive rates through 2039.
